Slow Food is an international organization that works to make people aware of the value of Good, Clean & Fair food. What does that mean? The organization defines it as follows:
Good: "The idea of good means enjoying delicious food created with care from healthy plants and animals. The pleasures of good food can also help to build community and celebrate culture and regional diversity". Clean: "When we talk about clean food, we are talking about nutritious food that is as good for the planet as it is for our bodies. It is grown and harvested with methods that have a positive impact on our local ecosystems and promotes biodiversity." Elizabeth has been a member of Slow Food for many years and has recently become Slow Food’s regional captain for Western-Central Vermont. Eagle’s Flight Farm will be hosting Slow Food events. We encourage other Slow Food members to host events, spread the word and have some fun cooking together. Please check out www.vermontslowfood.org or www.slowfood.com or www.slowfoodusa.org |
