Slow Food

Slow FoodSlow Food is an international organization that works to make people aware of the value of Good, Clean & Fair food. What does that mean? The organization defines it as follows:

Good: "The idea of good means enjoying delicious food created with care from healthy plants and animals. The pleasures of good food can also help to build community and celebrate culture and regional diversity".

Clean: "When we talk about clean food, we are talking about nutritious food that is as good for the planet as it is for our bodies. It is grown and harvested with methods that have a positive impact on our local ecosystems and promotes biodiversity."

Slow FoodFair: "We believe that food is a universal right. Food that is fair should be accessible to all, regardless of income, and produced by people who are treated with dignity and justly compensated for their labor."

Elizabeth has been a member of Slow Food for many years and has recently become Slow Food’s regional captain for Western-Central Vermont.

Eagle’s Flight Farm will be hosting Slow Food events. We encourage other Slow Food members to host events, spread the word and have some fun cooking together.

Slow FoodIf you live in Western-Central Vermont and have an idea or want to host an event please contact Elizabeth to find out how Vermont Slow Food can help promote your event. We now have great support from the terrific board at Slow Food Vermont…good things are happening!
